Cooling Fan

Here is how to wire your fan; Amazon China fans is all I use. "Low" will always show, but it will work just fine.

Here is the conversion for 6.4 trucks, using a 03 CR clutch.

SWAP Helper Cruise Helper VS Fummins Tuning Cruise

I'm still deep in the middle of my build so asking this before I wire this in.

I purchased the DCS kit w/ tach helper and cruise helper. I've had some back and forth on wiring in the cruise helper, as it seems like its a mess. Guy, maybe you can chime in, have you done wiring on the SWAP Helper cruise helper?

how difficult is it vs using the fummins tuning cruise controller?

thanks in advance,

i have done both yes, the cruise helper works but is messy and has another module and cable to deal with, my cruise is just a small both with a few connections inside the truck and plugs into teh ford pedal and works with out throttle module. the older servo are slow to react on hills and resume, my digital module is instant to respond. i have a customer right now working out the mods on the early cm845/846 ecm's as well which will expand teh fitment.

Starter issues on a new 6.4 swap

I got some questions yesterday and thought I'd post here to better help as this page grows. @Warren Ovard

This is a new build and in-house wiring, which can be a lot for anyone.

  1. flashed ecm/tcm no crank, no codes. A scanner can be used to see if there is a starter inhibit. The main things i see that cause this is tach signal, can H/L not hooked up, the driver's under-hood fuse box no power, Power feed to the smart junction box inside the cab.

  2. i would start by getting the starter to engage, and since this is a 12v, get it running and verify the tach works. No tach signal will for sure kill the starter logic. For testing, you can jump the yellow wire at the ecm plug under the hood closest to the fender. It's a small yellow wire and the only all-yellow wire. wiring info…

5.9 VP44 Builds

Some of you guys may know or may not know about the lugging when you shift gears on these more particular VP trucks. The issue is that a manual operating system causes this. Good news if you have a Smarty Tuner, you can fix this. Here's the information sent by one of my customers back to me thought I would share the reply.

Just thought I would follow up on an issue we had discussed regarding my VP44 Cummins shuddering and loping at idle in gear. I already had a Smarty S03 handheld tuner, so I contacted smartpros.com for a recovery file. I verified the vin out of the ecm with my scan tool, and used a mopar vin decrypter to confirm it was indeed a manual transmission. I provided the ECM VIN to Smarty Pros and told them I wanted an automatic recovery file, and it was currently a…

6.4 cruise control module

Hate to ask this question because I did not find you until I had already started purchasing parts for my swap, I do plan on using you for trans tuning in the very near future, starting my swap in a week or two, with that said I am swapping a 2006 5.9 into a 6.4 powerstroke truck, I have already purchased diesel conversion specialist apps throttle module and was wondering if your cruise module would work with their throttle module, thanks in advance for any help
